Retrieving the items
In addition to recording the item type, filing term, year, and identification number from each record, you also need the location of the item; this is found on the bottom right of each record in the results page. The addresses for each location may be found on the Contacts page of this site.
NWMB = Nunavut Wildlife Management Board
NRI = Nunavut Research Institute
DFO = Department of Fisheries and Oceans
DOE = Department of Environment
CWS = Canadian Wildlife Service

At DFO, items are shelved by number (00xxxx or F00xxxx). At NWMB, NRI,
DOE, CWS, and EDT items are shelved by type of material and alphabetically.
Example:
To find the above item at DFO, you look for the number F001310 on the shelves.
To find the same item at NRI, you look for Department of Indian Affairs
and Northern Development. Northern Affairs Program items which will
be in the Documents (DOC) section, next to other organization
names that start with “D.” Then you find the items produced by
this agency in 1985, and then the number F001310 among
them.
More detailed user guides are provided onsite and if you have trouble finding items, please ask staff for help. All materials must be used in the resource centre unless you are a staff member or NWMB board member.
