Understanding the results

A successful search will take you to a page of results. By clicking on the title of each result item, you may bring up a more complete record for a particular work (including the author(s), pages, language, etc. of the item). You may generate printable pages of your search results.

For items you wish to find, take down all the information on the bottom line of the record in the results page. This line tells you:

• what kind of item it is (DOC = Document, VF = Vertical File, AV = Audio⁄visual, RES = Research, MTG = Meeting, THESIS = Thesis)
• the word it is filed under alphabetically (e.g., the main organization or name or subject associated with the work)
• the year it was created
• its identification number.
